We're Holding Out for Health Care

My colleagues at Rock the Vote, including Mary McClelland (who was kind enough to e-mail me about this campaign) and I are holding out for health care because it's a life and death matter for Young Americans. Will you join us?

Watch the extremely funny below-embedded video which satirizes the fight for health care and pokes fun at the conservatives in Congress who want to maintain the unacceptable status quo and continue denying medical care to young Americans, endangering the health and wellness of milions of lower income young Workers.

WARNING! This video contains graphic and sexually explicit language and is not intended for minors or the easily offended.

If you can't withhold sex, then withhold whatever you can. You can refuse to help your conservative friends and significant others with the household chores like cooking, washing dishes and taking out the garbage. Refuse to hang out and party with them or lend them money. You might even want to sabotage a business deal or two. Since health care coverage is a matter of life and death for us, do whatever you can get away with. Get radical and creative with your arm twisting and turn up the heat until the conservative base begins to pressure their Members of Congress to ignore the lobbyists and join with us on health care.

Yes, keep holding out for health care until all Americans have Medicare or something similar because Young Americans are literally sick and tired of the excuses and we quite literally aren't screwing around anymore!

P.S. if you really are too weak to withhold sex, then get yours and make an excuse to leave the bedroom before your conservative partner reaches orgasm. While they're wating, sneak into the other room where the computer is and share this post with all your friends. Let's screw them before they kill us.

Robert Reich on Health Care Reform October '09

Former US Department of Labor Secretary Robert Reich has the 411 on how your hard earned money is going to be spent on health care reform. The question is whether your money will be spent to subsidize the medical industrial complex and increase their profits or whether your money will be spent to provide the public option which equals health care for everyone.
Don't believe what you are hearing in the media. The public option is still viable and Robert Reich and I encourage you to contact your Senators and Representatives to let them know how you feel.

Frog revived from being completely frozen

Revived frogs give hope to cryogenically frozen humans. Is clinical death a permanent situation and should laws on autopsies and the handling of "dead" bodies be changed to respect the rights of those who have chosen to become candidates for life extension. Also, should health insurance or universal health care, if adopted, pay for life extension services?

Reid: "The Public Option With An Opt-Out Is The One That's Fair"

Hopefully Sen. Lamar Alexander is correct that no Governor would opt out because the public option would be too popular, but if any state did opt out it would be ultra conservative Alabama and Governor Riley who is at the end of his lame duck term and who has extensive ties to the for profit health care industry. http://legalschnauzer.blogspot.com/2009/10/bush-influence-lives-on-in-us.html

Reid: "The Public Option With An Opt-Out Is The One That's Fair"

So let me get this right. Us wage slaves who live in The South and are most in need of government subsidized health care will have to do without so our Northern & Western neighbors who are working on "free soil" can have it. Hmmm. Sounds like a 21st Century Kansas Missouri Compromise to me. Let me know when you Yanks are going to invade The South again so everyone can be equal.

Roy Blunt: Obama Birth Certificate A "Legitimate Question" (VIDEO)

It would be a legitimate question if the original birth certificate was codified as the single deciding factor, but an original birth certificate is not dispositive as to the issue of citizenship. There is no single deciding factor. States did not even issue birth certificates when the Constitution was adopted! The best evidence available given the totality of the circumstances will do. Our ancestors were natural born citizens because a clergyman witnessed the birth and wrote the name of the child on the church rolls and in the family Bible. I used to be a military recruiter aide and certified copies of birth certificates were good enough to establish citizenship. This conspiracy theory stuff is so stupid.
